The reason I purchased the LENTION adapter was that my MacBook Pro lacks USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, and even an SD card slot. LENTION offers several models in different sizes and with various port options. The one I chose is the LENTION CB-CE18.
This model includes two USB-A 2.0 ports, one USB-A 3.0 port, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, a microSD card slot, and a USB-C port exclusively for charging. It is available in three colors: gray, pink, and blue. The device is made with an aluminum casing and features a thick, durable cable.
This adapter has been particularly useful for my university presentations. I can easily share my screen on a TV or projector. However, I recommend avoiding moving your laptop while it’s connected, as the adapter tends to disconnect easily. It’s lightweight and portable, making it convenient to carry around, though I sometimes forget it at home.
I still find myself wondering: why did Apple remove basic ports from the MacBook Pro?
Disadvantages of the LENTION Adapter
Since most devices have upgraded their ports to USB-C, I’ve noticed that the connection tends to loosen easily. This has happened when I move my laptop or try to plug in another cable—the same issue occurs with the charging cable. The LENTION adapter is no exception.
I recommend connecting any device while keeping the laptop stationary, and when unplugging peripherals, make sure to hold the adapter securely in place to avoid accidental disconnections.
Can I Connect the Lention Hub to a Tablet and Phone?
I’ve been able to connect this adapter to both iOS and Android phones and tablets without any issues. However, I’ve encountered a problem with the iPad. When trying to share the screen via an HDMI cable to a TV, nothing is displayed. For a moment, it seems to detect a connection, but I haven’t been able to get it to work properly.
Choose a Good Adapter
I don’t intend to promote this peripheral, but the most common issue I’ve encountered with generic hubs is that their ports tend to fail over time or offer slower speeds. Fortunately, that hasn’t been the case with this device.
